NASA photographer Bill Ingalls set up his 5DS and pointed it at the Space X Falcon 9 launch. With a remote release in his hand he was ready to go.
There were flames near by from the launch which slowly melted down the camera. Ingalls was at least 1/4 mile away from the launch pad but the bushfires cause from it moved up to his camera and this is the result.
Ingalls says despite all of this where he stood was “still closer than anyone would ever stand”.
